Trick or Treat

We had our annual Ward Chili cook-off and trunk-or-treat.

These girls are too cute.

Miriam currently LOVES the show "Jake and the Neverland Pirates."  So I managed to talk her into being a pirate for Halloween (instead of a princess again).  She was telling everyone that she is Jake.

 Eliza needed some convincing to keep her bumble bee costume on.  She currently has a skittle in her mouth as a bribe.

On Halloween day we trick-or-treated at Stan's work.  I decided to try Miriam's old costume on Eliza this time since she had such a hard time with the bumble bee.

Stan's cubicle at work.  Notice his name sign hanging from the ceiling.  These are all over the place in this massive sea of cubicles.  I guess it's supposed to make it easier to find someone.

The girls came away with WAY more candy than they needed.  Now, what to do with it all...?

Preschool Halloween Party

Miriam has been going to a twice a week, 2 hours a day, Preschool this year.  She LOVES it and her teacher is wonderful with the kids.  I got to witness her amazing-ness as I helped out with their Halloween party.  

Time for Some Blue

It's time for the McBride household to put away some of that pink and start decorating in blue.

We're SO excited.  Well, most of us.  Although Miriam had gone back and forth on what she wanted the past few months, she was a little sad it wasn't another sister.  She says we'll just have to have another one.

We'll see about that.

Tanyard Creek

It was a beautiful day for a Fall hike.  So we packed a lunch and headed up to Tanyard Creek.

One minute into it Miriam was tired and needed a rest.

Luckily she was soon distracted by the creek and forgot about being tired.  The girls loved throwing rocks and leaves into the water.  It was fun to see their excitement.

 Good thing Daddy was there to help everyone.

And finally to the top where we had lunch with a lovely view.

I love Fall weather!

Farmland Adventures

This year we broke from tradition and decided to try a different venue for the annual pumpkin patch excursion.  

We loved it!  It was less of a pumpkin patch and more of everything else, so we'll probably still visit our favorite patch, McGarrah Farms.  

Farmland Adventures was more about the animals and corn maze experience than an authentic pumpkin patch.

The girls got to go on pony rides.

They got to see lots of different animals at the petting zoo.  (Not that either of them actually wanted to PET the animals).

They got to go on a Wagon ride and feed chickens and cows tortillas (well, after Eliza tried a bite of her own tortilla).  The driver said they don't do hay rides any more because so many people were allergic to hay.

We enjoyed the morning with our friends, the Quinns.

The girls' favorite spot was probably the corn box.  Much less messier than a sandbox.

Even Daddy got in and joined the fun.

The "mini" corn maze.  We didn't even try the big corn maze.  The mini was adventure enough for us.

One of my favorite parts was the pig races.  Guess what they use to motivate these chubs?
