Silver Dollar City

Another activity we did a lot during the summer when I was a kid was go to the local amusement park, Silver Dollar City (or as my dad fondly calls it "STEAL your dollar city).

While it may not have as cool of attractions as Disney World (although it does have some really good roller coasters), it definitely has the best food, hands down.

I was nervous taking a 5 month old baby, but he did really well.  What a champ!

Miriam loves these things and wants to stop and take a picture in every one she sees.

  

Adult Night Out

Wednesday we went out to eat for Thai food with just the adults (& Philip)

After that tasty meal we headed to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

New Year's Eve - in July

Tuesday we spent a few hours at the pool with the cousins.  Eliza especially liked having Braden push her around.

 Oh these kids love their Auntie Melissa!

 After traditional New Year's Eve fashion, we had a food and game night.  

 We were especially glad to have Michael here to play Encore.  He helped amp up the game and provided some stiff competition.

 You wouldn't know it by these expressions, but I think everyone really did have  good time!

Family Home Evening

Sunday, we all enjoyed hearing Sara speak in church.  She certainly has gotten more comfortable behind the podium since her mission.  She gave a wonderful talk.  Then we chowed down on Jared's delicious smoked meat and then back to the church for Savannah's baptism.  It was an uplifting day--with no pictures on my part.  Some days it's all I can do to show up :-)

Monday we had Family Home Evening in Jared's back yard.

 Grandma Janet gave a great lesson on some family history.

Then we all had some good laughs watching Despicable Me 2.  

Lake Day

My childhood is filled with memories of spending summer days at the lake.  What better way then to spend a reunion day?

 Gotta love that brown muddy lake water...

 Thanks to Uncle Jared for taking us all on a boat ride/ski/wakeboard.
