3 Months

My little boy, 3 months old.  

The time has flown by.  And I am totally in love with this sweet boy.

I'm not the only one.  Miriam and Eliza are Dallin magnets.  They can't get enough of him--to the point of driving their parents crazy.  But I do love that they love their brother so much.

So nice of Miriam to organize the toys for Dallin.

Eliza is constantly asking to hold Dallin, and often throws a tantrum when she doesn't get to.

Auntie Rebecca loves to snuggle him any chance she gets.

I went to a friend's baby shower and ran into Dallin's birth buddy, Mariah.  Born the same day, same hospital, a few hours apart.

He is truly is such a happy baby, I just can't stop smiling back at him.

  

We went to a play date and found our friend dressed in the same clothes.  Great minds shop alike.

  

He also has the most adorable curl in his hair. 

 I think he's stolen my heart.

Dentist

There are pros and cons to be the oldest child.

Cons:

Mom and Dad are learning how to be parents so they make most of their mistakes on you

You will get the most amount of babysitting hours

You have to figure a lot out on your own because you don't have an older sibling to teach/corrupt you

Mom and Dad make a lot of mistakes on you

Pros:

Your life will be documented far more extensively than that of your siblings

You will have more "firsts" recorded than any of your siblings

You will have (mostly) new clothing  (no hand-me-downs)

You will have the upper hand in a sibling fight for a long time - until the younger outgrows you.

And I'm sure there are more, but hey, we're still learning.

So Miriam will receive the majority of the "first" blog posts.  Sorry, Dallin & Eliza.

Miriam had her first visit to the Dentist office.  I had taken her with me a few times when I had gone for a cleaning to get her used to the idea.  But she was always very scared when I mentioned it being her turn. 

But when the day finally came, my 4 year old did fantastic!

A lot of my friends with young kids were taking theirs to a pediatric dentist with all kinds of gimmicks for the kids.  

But I had faith in the hygienist, Courtney, who had always seemed like she would be so good with kids.

She did not disappoint.

 It also helped that Miriam had some Disney Junior to distract her.

Vacation

Vacationing with kids gives a whole new meaning to the word "vacation."  You never completely relax or are "off work" because you're taking care of kids.  But when they're so sweet like this kid, it's way more fun with kids!

And it wouldn't be much fun celebrating Mother's Day if you didn't have kids to help make cookies for mom.

It was a long drive for us to get to Destin (14 hours).

But the kids did really well.

It helps to have DVDs to watch.

And toys to snuggle.

With a daily view like this, who could pass it up?

We also went shopping at the outlet mall.  Miriam and Eliza insisted on stopping to have their picture taken in the hotdog. 

And we enjoyed some very (expensive) and yummy gelato.

Dolphin Cruise

Our "touristy" thing we did while in Destin was go on a Dolphin Cruise.  

I admit I was a little skeptical we would actually see any dolphins.  I'd been on a glass bottom boat ride years ago that was a huge disappointment as far as actually seeing any sea life.

I was pleasantly surprised.  

 We saw quite a few dolphins.

 Dallin did great in the baby carrier.  Eliza was missing her nap time so she only cared about the can of Sprite.

Over all, it was an enjoyable ride.

Happy Birthday Gemma

The girls enjoyed spending time with their cousin, Gemma.  Miriam was such a little Mommy to her.

While we were there we celebrated Gemma's 2nd birthday.  

Her favorite show right now is "Finding Nemo."  So what would be a more appropriate way to celebrate a birthday at the beach than a Finding Nemo themed party?

Jody went all out and made little goody bags for each girl with their name on them.  

They LOVED them.

 Miriam and Eliza gave Gemma a matching nightgown, but we forgot to take a picture!

A crowd favorite was the little flashlight rings.

 Jody had some cute games prepared as well.  

"Pin the fin on Nemo."

Even the adults joined in on the games.
