Halloween

For Halloween we went trick-or-treating at Stan's work.

Miriam loved it and was very polite.  She would only take one piece of candy when a bowl was held out to her.

 

Eliza was not a fan.  Maybe it was the hot costume or crowds of people.

 Either way, the only time she was happy was when eating candy or running up and down the aisles.  She didn't want to follow the candy trail.

  

Miriam met up with a few of her princess friends.

We had debated on taking Miriam trick-or-treating around the neighborhood but decided not to.  I think she had even more fun handing out candy to all the trick-or-treaters that came to our door!

Trunk R' Treat

This year for Halloween, I actually asked Miriam what she wanted to be (instead of just picking what I wanted her to be).  

She said "a Princess." Not a big surprise considering her age.  

I asked he which one, she said "Cinderella."  

Again, not a surprise since the most recent princess movie she has been watching is Cinderella.

Eliza got the hand-me-down costume, but was still just as cute as when Miriam wore it.

I did have some sentimental thoughts of how much she has grown and what a sweet little princess she really was.

 We ate some yummy chili at the Ward party, and then Miriam met up with her three best friends.  What a surprise, they were all princesses too!  I promise, we didn't coordinate and set it up that way.  That should tell you what these three year-olds are interested in lately.

 These girls have been friends for the past few years (most of their lives :-) 

 Miriam quickly caught onto trick-or-treating and enjoyed her candy a little too much.  

Family Pictures

Since I've had kids I've tried to do annual family and individual pictures.  

Our friend Joy Jackson  has done a great job in the past, so we hired her again.

Miriam was loving smiling this year (unlike last year when we couldn't get her to smile).

Eliza was indifferent.

Overall, I think they turned out great.

I just can't get over her beautiful eyes!!!

 Oh how I love how these girls love their daddy.

A Few Reasons Why I Love my Kids

1. Although I am super paranoid while she's trying them on, Miriam looks awfully cute in my glasses.

2.  I love watching her play mommy with her dolls.  She is always putting them to bed and here she is reading them a story.

3.  Bathtime is much more fun with two.

4.  Who knew sitting in laundry baskets could be so much fun??

  

 5.  Their happiness and love for others is genuine and very apparent.

6.  My kids are playmates with one another, though they don't always get along.

7.  They help you find joy and fun in seemingly unexciting activities, like getting your haircut.

(I just love her young voice.  Someday she's going to be older and I'll forget that sweet sound).

8.  They remind you how much fun eating a donut can really be.

And finally, because they're so CUTE!!!  (the most important and lifesaving reason)

 (even when they're mad)
