We finally tackled the biggest painting challenge in our house. The
living room
dining room
hallway
After much deliberation and MANY paint samples and trips to Lowes, we finally decided on...
Applesauce Cake
(25% lighter)
and an accent wall of
Hat Hox Brown
After much preparation of cleaning baseboards, taping things and moving furniture we were ready to go.
Saturday was a beautiful warm Spring day--the nicest day we've had since last Fall.
My sisters Jody, Anna and Sara came to offer their professional services. Jody and Anna to paint, and Sara to babysit Miriam.
I was really surprised how quickly the painting went, we were done within a few hours. Here is what it looked like before:
And here is what it looked like after all the hard work, rearranging the existing pictures and picking out a few new decorative items:
You kind of have to look closely in the pictures to tell the difference (look at the ceiling for the old color). I find it a bit ironic after all the debate over different colors, we ended up choosing something so close to what was already there. BUT--it is a bit different and not to mention a little darker and richer. AND, we didn't mind the old color so much as we HATED the flat paint. This new paint is a Satin sheen and we love it.
You're welcome to come on over and decide for yourself.
