Snowstorms in Arkansas are something of an event. One person on Facebook was calling it the "snowpocalypse."
The thing is, we don't get a lot of snow here (average of 8" a year). No sense in investing lots of money in a large fleet of snow plows for that, so you really need to plan to just stay home. When a big storm is predicted to come through, the locals go a little nuts. Facebook friends reported lines at the grocery store with empty shelves of milk and bread (thankfully I had gone grocery shopping earlier in the week). It becomes the hot topic of conversation and even people at Stan's work start freaking out a little.
Good thing Mother Nature lived up to the forecast.
After a layer of ice, she dumped several inches (never got the official count) of beautiful snow.
The girls got a little too anxious to get their snowsuits on and couldn't wait for me to dig them out before they got undressed.
Jody and Gemma were snowed in with us since they had come to make Christmas treats.
We tried to pave a path to sled down the slight hill in our front yard.
It wasn't steep enough and resulted in Daddy having to push the girls in the sled. Eliza kept saying "keep going, Daddy, keep going!"
Daddy hard at work shoveling the driveway.
I guess mother nature is trying to make up for the pathetic lack of snowfall in 2012.
