I have 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Our family is all grown and spread across the country, so it's becoming harder and harder to get together. My youngest sisters, Anna and Sara decided to move home for the summer, so Jody started planning a quick trip to Florida to see them and enjoy their employee benefits of free entrance into Walt Disney World. She didn't want to go alone, so she talked Rebecca into going. Then Melissa decided to go, and well, I couldn't be the only sister that didn't go, even if I am pregnant and can't ride many of the rides. So in two weeks we planned a 3 1/2 day trip to Orlando for some sisterly fun. I have to say that something like this has never happened--not with all 6 of us. The only time we've all gathered together is for a wedding or funeral, so we were pretty excited to vacation together.
Then it rained,
and rained,
and rained
in Arkansas.
Monday evening, Rebecca and I were supposed to leave, but flash flooding blocked the roads to the Northwest Arkansas airport. Our lovely airline decided to reschedule the flight for the next evening. Not only was this lame because it made us lose a full 24 hours of our already short trip, but the waters had receded hours before our flight would have left and we could have made it just fine.
So a little depressed, we finally left Tuesday evening while our other 4 sisters played hard without us. More storms caused more delays and a longer flight plan, and we finally arrived at our hotel around 3:00 a.m.
Wednesday morning Melissa, Rebecca and Jody went to Universal Studios to experience Harry Potter World. Anna and Sara don't get free entrance there and we had already went last Fall, so the three of us instead went to Disney's Animal Kingdom for the first part of the day.

Orlando this time of year feels like Arkansas in the dead of summer. Both groups were so sun worn and tired by mid-afternoon that we met back at the resort for some down time. After cleaning up and everyone changing outfits trying to look as cute as everyone else, we headed to Epcot.
After dinner we waited amongst the crowd for the fireworks show called "Illuminations" to start.
Everyone was pretty worn out by the end of the day--well everyone but Anna & Sara who are used to all the walking around and the hot weather. It was a long but fun day spent in good company.
