The Disney Dream

The ship we sailed on was the Disney Dream.

This ship was magnificent.  I abosultely LOVED it.  It is one of the two largest ships of Disney Cruise Line, holding up to 4000 passengers (5500 including crew).  

We had a really nice stateroom.

My favorite thing about our room--the verandah (or balcony).  I've been on two cruises before, and always stick with an interior room because it's the cheapest.  Thanks to my sister's discounts, we got a fabulous view!

Again, it was fun to be on board during the Holidays and enjoy the Christmas decor.  This is the Atrium.

One of the wonderful things about a cruise is how much they pamper you.  You get your stateroom cleaned in the morning, and then turn down service every evening (always with a new towel animal and Sleepy chocolate).

Don't be fooled, this is actually a good sized bathroom for a cruise ship (and the toilet is in it's own room!)

I won't go into all the fun areas on board, but here's a few.

A nice little throne you can sit by a beautiful mosaic.

A real gingerbread house built by the pastry kitchen.

Cool porthole seats.

The Oceaneer's Club (for kids 3-11).

This area was awesome!  I know Miriam would have loved it.  Well who am I kidding? Stan and Sara would have loved it if they would have let them stay there!  We went during the open house period to check it out and you can see they enjoyed themselves.

And it wouldn't be a proper cruise if there weren't dance parties.

One thing unique to Disney Cruise Line is that they set fireworks off the ship while at sea.  They are the only cruise line to have developed the technology to do this, therefore they are the only ones with the rights.  What's this amazing technology you might ask?  The fireworks are edible.  Any fallout that lands in the water and might be eaten by a fish, won't hurt them.  Apparently other cruise ships will stop around the perimeter and watch the show.  They even put in their itinerary: "fireworks at sea."  They just don't mention it's DISNEY.

Maybe I'm a little biased, but they weren't nearly as pretty and nice a ship as the Dream.

We were a few rooms down from our friends.  It was fun to look over the railing and see them.

 The ship had lights that would light up the water under the ship at night.  Awesome.
